Free online paycheck calculators aren’t the only thing PaycheckCity is giving away these days. With the present economy, everyone is trimming budgets. This is certainly true for our nation’s schools, who generally struggle with budgetary constraints even during more prosperous times. Symmetry Software, the company behind PaycheckCity, has teamed up with Teach For America to provide free scientific calculators to these struggling schools nationwide.

In 2010, Symmetry Software celebrated the 10th anniversary of the initial launch of our flagship website, PaycheckCity. It’s been a big hit with payroll departments all over the country, we see roughly 60,000,000 page views a year. In celebration of our success, Symmetry’s founder, Tom Reahard, decided he wanted to “give back” by distributing Texas Instruments TI-84 scientific calculators to help kids in underprivileged schools. Now, for every 50,000 visits to PaycheckCity, Symmetry Software will donate a Texas Instruments TI-84 scientific calculator to an underprivileged school in America. Symmetry is working with Teach For America to identify schools who will receive the calculators.

Why calculators? Math scores of American students continue to drop when compared to other developed nations. We want to do our part to reverse this trend. The folks here at Symmetry are a bunch of geeks and there is nothing we would like better to help in our geeky way....scientific calculators! (the next best thing to paycheck calculators). The more you visit our site, the more calculators get to kids who need them. After ten years, PaycheckCity continues to grow, and at this pace we will be able to donate hundreds of calculators annually.
