It’s hard to believe another National Payroll Week is in the books. The 2017 National Payroll Week campaign was one of the most exciting yet thanks to the support and involvement of members of the American Payroll Association members, official sponsors, payroll and finance professionals, and more. Highlights from National Payroll Week 2017 include:

“Getting Paid In America” Survey Success

More than 34,000 individuals participated in the annual “Getting Paid In America” survey. The survey allows the APA to gauge employee opinions on trends and methods in payroll, payment methods and more. Sue Garrison, Payroll Manager for Compassion International is the 2017 survey grand prize winner. She was randomly selected to receive a bonus paycheck and her dream vacation.

Payroll Throughout History

The 2017 NPW advertising campaign spread the message, “Throughout history, payday has always been the best day.” This message was echoed in print advertisements that appeared in leading publications like USA Today and New York Times Magazine. It also featured in this year’s new television commercial showcasing that although wage payments may change, payroll always ensures payday is the best day of the week for employees. The commercial aired around leading national shows like CNN and The Today Show and has been viewed more than 71,000 times online.

Media Recognition

National Payroll Week made headlines this year thanks to the public relations efforts of APA staff, local chapters, NPW sponsors, and more. Media coverage received in 2017 includes:
Money Matters National Education Day

More than 315 payroll professionals came together this September to spread financial literacy in their communities. Volunteers teach paycheck basics to teens in their local area and play an important part of the NPW activities. If interested, there is still time to sign-up as a volunteer and receive credit for 2017.
